Priorities
Leadership That Listens
- Protect and improve our Patterson CA water system. Advocate for safe, reliable, high quality water and responsible long term planning for one of our community's most important resources.
- Create opportunities for our youth through Patterson CA youth programs. Support community based programs that provide mentorship, leadership development, recreation, career exploration, internships, job readiness, and safe environments where young people can learn, grow, and thrive.
- Invest in youth recreation and community spaces. Encourage partnerships that expand after school, weekend, summer, sports, arts, educational, and enrichment opportunities for Patterson's young people.
- Improve street lighting and neighborhood safety, part of a broader commitment to Patterson CA public safety. Work to identify neighborhoods, parks, school routes, sidewalks, and other areas where improved street lighting can help residents feel safer and more connected to their community.
- Expand Patterson CA affordable housing and attainable housing. Encourage responsible housing development that provides opportunities for working families, seniors, young adults, and future generations to call Patterson home.
- Promote responsible land use and sustainable development. Make thoughtful development decisions that balance economic opportunity with infrastructure, water resources, environmental responsibility, and residents' quality of life.
- Bring good paying jobs to Patterson through responsible Patterson CA economic development. Attract responsible businesses and employers that provide meaningful employment, career pathways, and economic opportunities for our residents.
- Improve roads, transportation, and Patterson CA infrastructure. Advocate for investments that ensure our streets, roads, transportation systems, utilities, and public infrastructure keep pace with Patterson's growth.
- Strengthen public safety. Advocate for the police, fire, emergency response, street lighting, and community safety resources necessary to serve our growing population effectively.
- Expand access to healthcare. Advocate for greater healthcare resources and continue exploring opportunities for a hospital or expanded medical services so residents can receive more of the care they need closer to home.
- Strengthen strategic planning for Patterson's future. Support development and business opportunities that contribute positively to our tax base, infrastructure, employment opportunities, and long term economic sustainability.
- Give residents a meaningful voice in City Hall through transparent local government Patterson can rely on. Promote transparency, accountability, accessibility, and opportunities for residents, including our young people, to participate in conversations and decisions affecting their community.
Our Youth Deserve Investment, Not Just Encouragement
Our young people should not have to leave Patterson to discover opportunity. We must work to create opportunity right here at home.
We must build stronger partnerships among the City, schools, businesses, nonprofit organizations, families, and community leaders to create meaningful programs for our young people. Mentorship, internships, career exposure, recreation, leadership development, entrepreneurship, job training, and community service can help our youth discover their potential and prepare for their futures.
Our young people are not simply the leaders of tomorrow. They are an important part of Patterson today, and their voices matter.
Asking the Right Questions
I believe economic development should be about more than approving projects. When development opportunities come before the City, we should ask the important questions:
- Will this project create quality jobs for our residents?
- Will it strengthen our local economy and tax base?
- Will it use our water and other resources responsibly?
- Will our roads and infrastructure be able to support it?
- Will it contribute positively to the quality of life of Patterson residents?
- What opportunities will it create for our families and young people?
